Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) in Mankato, was established in 1968 by the merger of two existing MCHS-Mankato hospitals; Immanuel Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital. We are a 272-bed, licensed hospital providing services to Mankato and the surrounding area. MCHS-Mankato became a part of the Mayo Health System in 1996. Our supervisors are qualified Medical Technologists and specialists in their fields. They are available to answer department-specific questions and to provide consultation for technical problems you may encounter in your laboratory. Our staff of Medical Technologists (MT’s) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT’s) are available to answer questions about specimen requirements, patient results, and to help locate information.
MCHS-Mankato has five pathologists located on-site, which allow us to provide full surgical pathology and cytology coverage. They are also available for medical consultation. We are also proud of our partnership with Mayo Medical Laboratories, our primary reference lab.
Our laboratory is fully accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and meets all of the Department MCHS-Mankato Health & Human Services Healthcare Financing Administration, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA ‘88) requirements.
